Three-day Yoga & Meditation Programme for ITBP personnel concludes
Promoting holistic wellness among security forces, a three-day morning special Meditation and Yoga programme for officers and jawans of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was successfully organized at the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre from April 8 to April 10, 2026.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 100 ITBP personnel, who attended the daily early morning Yoga and Meditation sessions with great dedication and discipline. Designed to address the unique challenges faced by personnel deployed in high-altitude and extreme weather conditions, the initiative focused on enhancing physical endurance, mental resilience, emotional balance, and spiritual well-being.
The meditation and Satsang sessions were conducted under the guidance of Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder and Spiritual Director of MIMC, whose teachings emphasized inner peace, mindfulness, and compassionate service. The yoga sessions, led by the Centre’s experienced yoga instructors, included a combination of breathing techniques, stretching exercises, and relaxation practices tailored to suit the demanding requirements of ITBP personnel.
Participants expressed deep appreciation for the thoughtfully curated programme. The ITBP personnel lauded the yoga trainers of MIMC for their professionalism and dedication, and specially praised Bhikkhu Sanghasena for his wonderful and enlightening sessions. Many participants noted that the programme not only rejuvenated them physically but also provided mental clarity and emotional strength, which are essential for their duties in harsh and isolated terrains.
The concluding day of the programme was marked by the visit of DIG North-West Frontier ITBP Tashi Namgyal, who reviewed the sessions and interacted with the participants. He expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of the programme and commended MIMC for its continued efforts in supporting the well-being of the armed forces. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in boosting morale and enhancing the overall efficiency of personnel serving in challenging environments.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhikkhu Sanghasena expressed his deep respect and heartfelt gratitude to all members of the armed forces for their unwavering commitment and sacrifices in safeguarding the nation. He remarked, “Meditation and Yoga will definitely provide additional strength to the jawans to meet the challenges of high-altitude and extreme cold conditions of the Himalayas. MIMC will always remain committed to offering its humble services to our defence personnel.”
The programme concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the importance of integrating traditional wellness practices into the daily routine of security forces to ensure their overall health, happiness, and effectiveness in service.
